House Of Billiam

INSIDE JOB was a collaborative exhibition featuring Lawrence Watson’s world renowned photographs featuring music legends from rock, hip hop & britpop plus a selection of jackets from bespoke street wear label, House of Billiam. The centrepiece of the exhibition was a YOUTH CLUB commissioned House of Billiam varsity jacket in trademark YOUTH CLUB colours with the lining made from an iconic photograph taken by PYMCA contributor Lawrence Watson.

Inside Job gave photography fans & streetwear aficionados the unique opportunity to purchase a one-off, bespoke House of Billiam Varsity jacket made with an iconic Lawrence Watson photograph of their choosing as the lining. The photograph that YOUTH CLUB and House of Billiam settled upon was Lawrence Watson's shot of LL Cool J performing live onstage in Philadelphia, for NME.

Lawrence recalls, “The journalist was Stuart Cosgrove… We were probably the only two white guys in the place and I was the only photographer in the pit. While LL was performing gunshots went off in the venue at the back in celebration. Only LL’s father rushed on to remove him from the stage. When calm had set back in he returned to finish his set”.
